Design, develop, and implement customized data management and archiving software applications for clients. Analyze clients’ current data management systems and legacy architecture to identify deficiencies and weaknesses in data quality and retrieval. Consult with clients to identify business requirements and map clients’ operational data stores, repositories, and data marts to outline the flow of data within existing systems. Leverage business process modeling and linear programming and optimization methodologies to design innovative and effective software solutions to meet clients’ needs and specifications. Work with lead project engineers to convert project requirements into code using software algorithm design and write functional and technical design documents. Perform development activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous integration, build processes, and unit and regression testing. Troubleshoot and debug existing code as necessary. Integrate completed applications with clients’ systems and enterprise management software and monitor data flow and database transactions to ensure the atomicity, consistency, isolation, and durability of transferred data. Perform ongoing maintenance of applications and develop extensions and new functionalities to adapt to changing business and data management requirements. Act as a source of knowledge on data management and archiving for clients. Stay abreast of the latest trends and technological advancements in the IT industry.
Requirements
The position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered or a related position. The position requires skills and knowledge in business process modeling, data analysis, data management, data mining, predictive modeling, and linear programming and optimization. The position involves little travel- 24% of work time, several days, but less than 60 days per year.
